Overnight in Rabat.

After breakfast, set out on a guided tour of Rabat that delves into the city’s fascinating history. Highlights of the tour include visits to Chellah and the Kasbah of the Oudayas. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to wander through the old medina, where the souks and bazaars showcase the local charm. We’ll then pause at Café Maure, perched along the Bouregreg River, for a traditional Moroccan tea break featuring mint tea and local delights such as “Kaab Ghazal” and “Ghariba.”

Your trip continues with a journey to Fez, making stops in Volubilis and Meknes along the way. At Volubilis—a UNESCO World Heritage site—you’ll explore the impressive Roman and Berber ruins with the help of a knowledgeable local guide. From there, we head to the Imperial City of Meknes, once envisioned by Moulay Ismail as the Moroccan Versailles. With your guide, you’ll visit iconic landmarks including the ornate Bab El Mansour gate and the lively Lhri square.

We’ll then continue on to Fez for the night. Fun fact: “Kaab Ghazal,” meaning “deer’s hoof” in Arabic, is a traditional Moroccan pastry often served with mint tea and Ghariba, representing the warm hospitality of Moroccan culture.

After breakfast, begin your guided tour of Fez, which served as Morocco's capital until 1912. Established in the 9th century, it’s also home to the world’s oldest university.

Your local guide will lead you through some of the Medina’s most important landmarks, such as the Bou Inania and Attarine madrasas, the traditional tanneries, Ess-Seffarine Square, the tomb of Moulay Driss, El Nejjarine Square, and the souk of cabinet makers. You’ll also explore the historic Jewish quarter, known as the Mellah. A hands-on pottery session with a master artisan is included in the tour, adding an authentic touch to your Moroccan experience.

After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, you may either return to your hotel or spend more time independently exploring the labyrinthine streets of the old city. As a cultural note, Fez is renowned for hosting a major Sufi festival every October, attracting artists and spiritual performers from across the globe.
